Your First Visit
When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin your dental treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office.
Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

General Dentistry Limited to Children
Dr. Collins is a general dentist limiting her practice to infants, adolescents, and teens. Their focus is in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Dr. Collins is qualified and experienced in the dental needs of infants, children, and adolescents.
Dr. Guram is a board certified pediatric dentist.
Pediatric dentists like Dr. Guram specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special needs.
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education. We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them.
Our mission is to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.
We love what our patients have said.

Dr. Sukhi Guram is a South Carolina native, born and raised in Charleston, S.C. When she was eleven years old her family relocated to the mid-state, where she graduated from Irmo High School and attended the University of South Carolina Honors College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She moved back to the Lowcountry for dental school, attending MUSC’s College of Dentistry, where she graduated in the top 15% of her class and received the “Award in Pediatric Dentistry” for her class. After dental school, Dr. Sukhi started her residency training at the University of Florida and spent two years in Gainesville, Florida to become a Pediatric Dentist.
Dr. Sukhi lives in Charleston, SC. During her spare time she loves enjoying all the city has to offer with her family, friends, and her dog Gigi!
